Andrea Jeremiah
Andrea Maria Jeremiah is an Indian actress, playback performer and musician, who is most often in Tamil as well as Malayalam movies that are based on the Tamil language. Annayum Rasoolum was her Malayalam as well as Tamil debuts in acting. Andrea Jeremiah was born in Anglo-Indian born in Arakkonam Tamil Nadu. Her father is an attorney in the Madras High Court. Her younger sister is a research assistant from Belgium and lives in Leuven. Jeremiah is from Chennai. She attended National Public School, and then graduated Women's Christian College. Andrea, who began classical piano lessons at age eight years old, was described as a "geek" and was aspiring to be a psychiatric until her 12th grade board exam. When she was 10, she was in a Jackson Five-style troupe called Young Stars which formed the basis of her first singing and music composing career. She appeared as an actor at her college in several performances organized through The Madras Players or EVAM. Andrea was also the Student Senate President at Women's Christian College. Andrea's stage career started with the play of Girishkarnad Nagamandala. In 2006, she was a part-time actress in a brand new advertisement for Leo alongside actor Shiva. The actress also appeared in a TV show which aired on Podhigai. She has appeared in all parts of India. She had a short character in the finale in Kanda Naal Mudhal (2005). Gautham Menon asked Andrea to play the lead role after she sang in Vettaiyaadu's Vilaiyaadu. This film was a film adaptation of the novel by James Siegel Derailed. It featured Andrea as Kalyani a homemaker whose husband engages in an affair and is threatened with blackmail. Andrea was selected for the part following the actors Simran Shabana as well as Tabu were invited to audition for the film. The film was released at the start of 2010. In August 2011 Venkat Prabhu launched his multi-starrer Mankatha. She was asked to play a minor supporting role. She made her Malayalam film debut with Rajeeev's Annayum Rasoolum in 2013.
